Add everything in a pot, bring the mixture to a boil and let it simmer for 15 minutes. Pour it in a glass and enjoy.

Turmeric kefir

You’ll need:

  • 1 gallon distilled water
  •  1 cup of fresh turmeric
  •  1 cup ginger
  •  1 cup rapadure or organic sugar
  • ½ cup Water Kefir Grains

Peel the turmeric and ginger and chop them. Pour the water in a large pot and bring it to a boil. Add the turmeric and ginger, reduce the heat to medium, cover it and let it simmer for 60 minutes. Set it aside and let it cool down. Next strain the liquid and transfer it in a large glass jar. Add the sugar and stir until combined. Finally add the kefir grains and close the jar. Cover it with a towel in the end and let it sit for 5 days. You can try it after the 3rd or 4th day, if it’s a bit sour and fizzy the kefir is ready to drink.  Store it in the fridge and drink it whenever you can.
